Every holidays, I always come back thinking these were the best holidays… And this summer, we’ve been travelling through the North East Cost of America.
You guys living over there are very lucky! Nature is beautiful, abundant, preserved.
We managed to stay raw during our holidays and if you’re interested to know a little bit more about our holiday diet, read on!
We started our journey in Montreal. I loved this city so much! And everybody speaks french!
We went to see the NASCAR (it’s a race… very manly) which was very noisy… We stayed in a nice hotel in the old Montreal and we were walking everyday to our favourite place: CRUDESSENCE!

Crudessence is a raw vegan restaurant. You can check the restaurant here: http://www.crudessence.com/en/
Here are a few dishes that we had there:
We had 2 “vert dur” juices each at each meal!
This green juice is made out of
Kale, parsley, fennel,
apple, celery,
lemon, ginger
Yummm!
We also indulged in their OM Burger!
A mixture of mushroom, sun dried tomato,
flaxseed and mixed vegetables, served on chapati
and garnished with fresh tomato, red onion,
lettuce, homemade mustard, ketchup and
our famous caper aïoli sauce
I tried the Tuna Wrap!
very creamy, it’s an almond, dill and dulse
paté in nori and rice sheets with sprouts,
seasonal vegetables, olives, aïoli and capers…
Oh oh oh!
Each time we were at Crudessence, we had an amazing experience and never felt overloaded with nuts afterwards.
After a few days in Montreal we headed down to UpState new York. We had planned to meet some friends and stay near a lake there for 10 days.
There we spent a week eating mostly fruit, doing a lot of sports (cycling, running, boating… and most importantly resting, sunbathing and eating, yes those are sports!)
We had a feast of Durian, lychees and watermelon! Good cleanse!
After a good week of super clean food an a little low in calories, we headed down to New York city for another 5 days where we met more friends and enjoyed a lot of wholefoods market shopping and oh my god: the amazinglicious raw restaurant: “Pure Food and Wine”
There are a few dishes we tried and this experience was really one of the best:
The garden is a little piece of heaven in a city like New York

The Burger is out of this world, with a subtle mustard taste.
Of course, their absolute best selling dessert : the classic sundae, is a must have!
We had a lot more to taste on the menu and that gives us a good reason to come back again in New York!

This looks great (Y) and filling. If I am ever in Montreal again, I will have to try this raw food restaurant. I have been to only two in Toronto and loved them both.
Welcome home and glad to hear you didn’t put on an ounce. I’m trying to convince Debbie to go back to raw now that summer is on its way and we can reap the benefit of our veggie patch, but only if it would rain – haven’t had any rain for at least 3 months but we did get a small snow fall which is amazing for our area. Will keep in touch. Love Lenore
Hey Lenore! I’t since to hear from you! Hope you had some rain! xx
